A simple yet elegant and ever so delicious dessert salad, perfect for those warm and sunny summer days. A dessert using fresh ingredients and all without using a stove, and all done in less than 15 minutes. This pairs perfectly over panna cotta, zabaglione or even my Ciambella Di Agrumi .

There are plentiful of ways Italians like to macerate their strawberries, which include adding some Amaretto or Lemoncello or even using balsamic vinegar and fresh basil. The options are truly endless.
FRAGOLE MACERATE AL LIMONE
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 0
Fridge Time: 1 Hour
Total Time: 1 Hour, 15 Minutes
Servings: 4 - 6 Servings
Ingredients:
1 lbs fresh strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lemon
1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
Instructions:
1. Begin by washing the strawberries very well and removing the tops.
2. In a medium sized bowl, cut the strawberries into quarters and place them inside.
3. Next, sprinkle the sugar on top of the strawberries, add the lemon zest and pour the lemon juice and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
(Tip: This will draw out the natural juices and sugars from the strawberries, which in turn will make a nice natural syrup. This is great if you are going to pair this on top of panna cotta or cake.)
Note: You can also make a fun adult version and add about 1/4 cup of Amaretto or Lemoncello!
4. Now, add the fresh mint and mix well. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. This is best served chilled.
5. After at least 1 hour, you can now serve in individual cups/bowls or spoon over as a topping.
ENJOY!
